My students have a hard time retaining information and with these notebooks they are able to go back to the notes we did at the beginning of the year or even last week and remember how to solve the problem. In their notebooks (journals) they will keep all of their objectives, bellringers, notes, and their math foldables. Last year, I noticed that a lot of my students could not afford to buy their own so I did and it was more than I thought. At the end of the year the majority of the students took their journals home to study for their state assessment and they said it would also help them next year in Algebra. Since students are not given books to take home this is the next best thing for them to study with.
