My seventh grade students live on or near a large military base. Most are found to be below the poverty line. My building works with fifth through eighth graders, and there are over 1000 students enrolled each year. This rural district also has a third of its population coming from small communities that embraces the infusion of kids from the military who bring rich experiences from around the world.
