I teach science and art in a behavior/emotional program in the largest city in the state. My middle school and high school grade level students struggle in many ways. I see the challenges that they face everyday in regards to the situations that they mentally face and how they need support to overcome them one step at a time. Not only do we help them with emotional baggage, but we help them overcome reading, writing and learning struggles through encouraging differentiate learning. I use hands on learning and trying to do things a couple times. I have high expectations and I encourage my students to strive to learn something new each and everyday.
