My students learn best by hands on practice comparing, ordering and equivalencies.They understand and remember how to add, subtract, multiply and divide as they ring up pretend purchases. They can picture what they are learning in their head, and my students are visual learners and they can take control of their learning experience with hands on techniques that adapt varying teaching methods to their visual strengths. For example, my students can use highlighter tape which is perfect for drawing attention to important words, syllables and phonics sounds, using removable, reusable tape.
