My students will use this material to design, print, test and revise several major 3d printing projects. Each project will involve a design phase where they become familiar with computer-aided design principles. After the design phase, they will print their designs on a Makerbot Replicator+ and then test their designs in the real world. The students will observe how their designs function and what improvements they can make. These projects require multiple revisions based on real world observations (much more engaging to my students than a typical classroom), so we will need a considerable amount of filament. Each project requires about 100g of material per student per revision.
