Students will be able to use these folders in a daily routine to add to their self-made textbook. When students pick up their whole-punched paperwork as they enter for class, they can add to the "notebook" middle section of their folder. Each student will be tasked to keep a record of their work in a table of contents page at the beginning of their "notebook" section. The left pocket will be where they will keep all their homework assignments and the right side will be their "portfolio" pocket where they will keep all their handed back writing pieces, tests and self reflection sheets. I have done this in the past and it has had a big impact on student homework completion, parent engagement, and student academic success. Their folders get graded for organization, neatness, completion and accuracy to keep the kids on their toes!
