Children's imaginations and creativity should have a place in the classroom on a daily basis. Kindergartners come to school eager to learn and explore, and their imaginations are full of wonderful thoughts and ideas! They see the world in a different way, and we can learn a lot about our kinders by watching them play and use their creativity. Morning exploration buckets will be used each morning for students to show off their creativity and imagination, as well as strengthen fine motor skills and fluency in literacy and math. Students will have their own bucket each morning, which will rotate daily. They may use the materials in their buckets however they choose, as long as they are being safe and responsible. A few examples of the materials and activities in the buckets include stringing alphabet beads, counting and sorting stones, matching and fitting nuts and bolts, and creating designs, numbers, and letters with blocks and play dough! Plus with all of these different materials, future bucket combinations are endless, so students' imaginations can continue to be challenged throughout the year!
