GREEN Pathway students are learning to leverage technology for a sustainable future. The first two years students focus on designing and developing "Farm-to-Table" growing systems for urban families. The systems we have developed to date grow nutrient-dense produce using only 10% of the water needed for conventional agriculture, and 25 - 50% higher yield per square foot of growing space. In addition, our systems avoid the risk of contaminated soil by growing above existing soil or even paved surfaces. The final 2 years of the program focus on exploring energy efficiencies, power and utilities, alternative energies, and community projects that bring what we have learned about environmental engineering and sustainability to our neighborhood.
