My 5th grade classroom is a mixture of talented students with a melting pot of diversity both culturally and academically. I am seeking to give my students an environment that stimulates creativity and collaboration, in a tech savvy world. Current research supports both flexible seating and blended learning stations. Flexible seating allows students the opportunity to be physically comfortable to focus completely on the task at hand. In addition, blended learning rotations provide students and teacher the opportunity to work in smaller group settings. Flexible seating environments can work in conjunction with rotations to enhance productivity. Some of the environments I want to create have the following items: Scooper Rockers, lap desks, Balance Balls, commercial furniture stackables, rugs, floor pillows, and low to the ground tables. One station would even have tablets for a group of five.
