The students have learned the basics in coding. The ability to see how the coding directly affects a Sphero Bolt (robot ball) would bring the concepts of coding to a realistic concrete understanding. Students see how their changes result in movement within the computers but this is the next level, really seeing what happens with a slight change and the need to be accurate in your directions. This will then translate to a writing project focusing on the precision of vocabulary. The Sphero Bolt is a device that is fairly easy to program via an iPad. The students will construct a program and then apply the program. My role will be a hands off role. The students will see if the Sphero Bolt follows their intended path. If not I will help them to discover where their directions or coding need editing.
