About my class

The music and physical education programs are desiring a way to collaborate. We have decided to make our spring concert one that focuses on music and moving. Our 3rd and 4th graders will be working with Chinese jump ropes and square dancing. This leaves our 5th and 6th graders with the opportunity to dive into the new craze of cardio drumming. Funding this project will help us to buy the necessary stability balls and sticks to get these kids moving while drumming out a beat. Not only will our students be learning about rhythm and music, but they will have the opportunity to combine specific movements to make the music come alive. We really want our students to have the opportunity to try the new "big deal" fitness activities that are taking our society by storm. This is something that they can not only do during school, but can take what they learn beyond school and continue to move to music in a little different way!
