This year I will be focusing on providing opportunities for my students to build up their brain power! We will be playing games, trying experiments, and thinking critically to solve tasks. By having morning stations the students will be provided with enriching and engaging experiences. The stations will hit Math, Science (STEM), and critical thinking skills. The donations for this project will improve my classroom by supplying more options for exploring and stimulating their brains! The students will rotate through the stations each week and be challenged and stimulated! Students will have free choice to choose which stations interest them and that they feel will challenge them and build their critical thinking skills. The stations will include iPods games, magnets, building tools, and games. Your funds will be used to help make these stations possible!! The colorful stools will be used as flexible seating for the iPad station. The students will be able to pull up a quick seat wherever the iPads are located. One of the activities that they will be able to do in the iPad station is Osmo Genius and Jam. The iPad is connected to an iPad base and the apps are downloaded first to the iPad. The students then use a variety of tiles to navigate through the app. The apps for iPad Genius include coding, tangrams, numbers and words games. With the Osmo Genius and Jam that will create 5 spots for the iPad station. The other part of your donation will go towards critical thinking and brain building games. These games include: Marble run (students build obstacle for the marble to go down), IQ Math and Logic puzzles, Jenga, Spot it, Checkers, Mancala, On the dot, and Chinese Checkers. Each game works on building students critical thinking and IQ skills.
