My school is a Title I school. My students enter my classroom doors with many stories. Some happy and some sad. There is a high poverty rate along with homelessness. As I get to know my students I learn about the struggles they face each day. I try to empower my students and offer them the tools to be successful in life. Many stay after school to tutor with me. When the time comes to dismiss them, they beg to stay longer. I believe they feel safe while they are at school and loved and I am happy to be a part of that feeling.
