By providing my students with flexible seating, I am allowing them a choice in my classroom. This will give them various seating options to make effective learning choices. Some students do better when they can wiggle their legs, while some even like to have them under them. Regular desks do not allow for many variations. It is my belief that not every student learns to their potential in the same environment, so by utilizing flexible seating, I will be able to reach more learners. Flexible seating allows my classroom to be broken up into separate areas for collaborative group work. Our current desks are very old and uncomfortable, especially for my older students. My job as a teacher is to provide my students with a learning environment suitable for their needs.
