I am honored to teach 18 amazing, spirited, and fun first graders! Every single day they do something that makes my heart smile and lets me know I am exactly where I am supposed to be! I teach at a school that has about 92% of the students receiving free and reduced lunch. The students I serve have a wide range of experiences and learn on many different levels. I have seen over the year that phonics is a critical area in which many of my students need additional assistance. It is essential that our students are exposed to many different materials in order to help build background knowledge and essential foundational skills. To help students become successful, hands-on experiences reinforce what is being taught in the classroom. My goal is to make sure my students love to learn and to help them have confidence in themselves to do it!
