My classroom has recently become 1:1, meaning we have a classroom set of Chromebooks at all times. Since becoming a 1:1 classroom, I have been working really hard to create guiding video lessons for my students to help meet their needs. I record video lessons to help meet the different learning styles of my students and to help make learning more student-paced. My video lessons provide instruction and guided practice to the students at their pace. The videos allow students to hear my explanations and watch as I solve problems right in front of them. They also allow students to pause or replay the video as many times as they need. I also make the videos available on Google Classroom for students to rewatch at home or get caught up if they are absent. Having a class set of over-ear headphones will drastically improve my students' learning when it comes to watching the videos I create for them. Not all students have their own headphones (or sometimes students simply forget to bring them) and it can be very stressful on them if part of the day's lesson requires listening and following along with one of my videos. Having a class set of over-ear headphones will ensure that each student can focus on and listen to the instruction and guided practice provided in the video lessons.
