The Chromebook laptop will allow me as a teacher to become more mobile in my classroom to reach individual students. Instead of a standard desktop computer, the laptop allows me to go to the students for individual help. I do not currently have access to a smart board or a projector; all of my examples and explanations are hand written on my whiteboard. The laptop will give me the opportunity to utilize technology in the classroom with my students. The Chromebook will benefit my students by providing them the opportunity to do research for projects in the classroom, instead of finding time outside of the classroom. My students will also be able to share their projects with the class by connecting from the laptop, allowing us to do presentations and building their public speaking skills. Another great advantage that the Chromebook will give me is in our RTI programs such as Think Through Math and MobyMax. These programs provide students the opportunity to get some extra help on skills that they need to improve. Not only will these programs reach struggling students, the Chromebook will also reach my advanced students who need a challenge. Having the Chromebook will keep my students in the classroom working throughout and being able to ask questions while they improve their struggling skills. The equation tiles are a new technique I want to introduce to my students. I believe these will increase the engagement of my students and encourage partner as well as individual cooperation. These tiles will also give students the opportunity to use a manipulative when working difficult pre-algebra equations! These materials will better my students by giving them a variety of ways to learn.
