I am currently teaching AP Biology in Harvey, LA. This is the first time a college level course has been offered in the Science Department at our school. We are lacking certain supplies that would greatly improve student interaction in class. I would like to be able to purchase 30 microscopes for the Biology department for use this semester and into the future. During each semester we have around 150 students taking Biology spread between myself and one other teacher. These microscopes will enable students to have a hands on approach to Science, something that is greatly lacking in school systems nationwide. My goal when taking this job was to provide the highest level education possible to every student and I truly feel that with the addition of key pieces of Science equipment I can raise levels of education and have my students be able to compete for jobs not just locally but nationally.
