I teach Family and Consumer Sciences, a subject that allows students to learn things that they will utilize in their future, no matter what language they speak or what their socioeconomic background is. For this project I am asking for basic sewing supplies. My students use these things almost everyday in our sewing unit. They use them to learn how to sew on buttons, mend clothing and sew two things together. In class right now we have very low supply of these tools. These are things that can be easily lost or broken, which happens everyday with my middle school students. By donating to this project you will get my students the supplies they need to learn how take two pieces of fabric and make something from them. They will be able to create a hands on projects. They will be able to improve their fine motor skills. And most of all they will be able to make something that they can call theirs, something that they can be proud of.
