My 18 second-grade students are from a rural area in Alabama. Our school is a Title I school, which means the majority of our students qualify for free or reduced lunches. Our school is part of a community with strong ties. There is currently a large construction project which is renovating the middle school and building a new high school. It is a very exciting time for this tight-knit community.
