My students come to school everyday ready to learn. We all learn, work and grow together. I have the honor of teaching a wonderful group of children that range greatly in learning styles. My students are a unique group in that I teach students with cognitive delays to a cluster of gifted students all within the mainstream classroom. Interventions and enrichments are needed daily. My students are unique in their own ways, but all share the drive and passion to learn. Our school is a suburban school located about 15 minutes outside a major city. Our students come from a variety of socioecomic backgrounds. We educate over 900 students in our elementary building. Each grade level having 6-7 classrooms. We currently function as a Title 1 school and have several special needs units. Our schools free and reduced lunch rate has continued to increase to 40.7%. We are seeing more and more transient students coming in and out of our school as well as multiple families living under one roof.
