I am quite blessed to teach reading in a looping classroom. This enables me to nurture students for both their second and third years of school. This helps form a great sense of community and accountability among the students. They are like a family unit. This loop I have 47 active and creative students. They are all unique. We have a diverse school with many cultures present. My students love centers, and we spend lots of time working in small groups. Their favorite centers involve hands-on activities, games and your choice reading. Small groups allow me to have invaluable one on one time with my students as well as giving them a chance to collaborate on projects. I love that during indoor recess many of my students choose to take a book, snuggle down and get lost in their imaginations.
