Our classroom is our home away from home. It is important for my students to have a comfortable library rug as many are still living in hotel rooms due to the devastation from Hurricane Florence. Throughout the school year, so many memories are made and learning is done from our small classroom library. My students enjoy reading and listening on the floor. They need a carpet to feel comfortable, especially during the winter months when our tile floor is unbearably cold. Help me create this comfortable, inviting and calming space for my students. I am asking for a new rug for my students to sit on during Daily 5 literacy rotations. My students will visit the classroom library each day where they can choose to read or listen to books online. A rug in our classroom library will foster a love of reading and be a place where my students can feel cozy, warm and comfortable. It will be calming place to read and work together.
