My class consists of 21 second grade students (12 boys and 9 girls) who come from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, and therefore they have a wide range of reading abilities ( 2 to 3 reading grade levels apart). I have three students who are served with speech services, two with reading intervention, three with math intervention, and two with resource services this year. These students often need individualized learning time at certain times of the day. Other students are above level and interested in more challenging reading and research that interests them.
