The alternative school I teach at is made up of most of the students who have had trouble at the other schools around the area, so they can be an energetic bunch. If most classrooms are a sail boat on the ocean my students would be a pirate ship taking on the coast guard. I tend to stress with them good cooping mechanisms to deal with stress or anger sense most of them have never seen people who deal with those emotions in a healthy way. These students have been told time and again in the classroom that they have little to no talent. However in sports many of these kids excel and though practically it's unlikely they'll find a career in that what they do find is some badly needed positive reinforcement and a boost to their self-esteem.
