Reading this classic novel will help my students learn about the Chinese culture, finding similarities about their culture. This novel will help me bridge the past and present cultural norms about the Chinese population. We will interact with various elements of Chinese culture, especially Mahjong. Students will learn to play the popular game and share stories while playing. During COVID, students were not able to socialize with each other. They have missed out on maintaining healthy relationships. Games, like Mahjong, will help students not only connect to the Chinese culture but with each other, too.
