Some of my students are English Language Learners and academically challenged students. The school has purchased many online programs for students, such as Zearn and Lexia. However, many of my students do not have access to a tablet or computer at home. Having iPads and cases in the classroom mean my students will be able to use technology in many different ways. The iPads will become a tool to help them with the acquisition of English, reading and math skills. IPads can strengthen language skills to ensure success but can also strengthen their math skills. Lexia is a reading program that can be personalized to the reading level of each individual student so learning is differentiated. In addition, iPads have features that can be used to support my English Language Learners. Some examples of these features are spoken text and communication tools.
