My classroom is a reading based learning environment for all areas. I love to have my students completely understand reading and try to guide all their learning through reading. I have a deep love of reading and want to instill that same love for my students. We read 5-6 books every year with skill based projects. My kids love to hear our daily reading and often times do not want me to stop reading to them. When we are done with our book we have fun with a project based book report. Sometimes, I feel like my kids only exposure to reading is with me and that is why I want them to realize how important reading is. I tell my students every day, if you want to be better at anything you have to try and practice, same goes for reading. We are a small school and community and basketball is the only sport we have; so I try to relate to my students through sports. It is the same drive to be better in sports, as it is in education.
