My students are an active group of kiddos that are just learning the ins and outs of full day school. They have a hard time sitting still and understanding that they need to remain seated. "Movement in the classroom helps students focus and re-energize their bodies." (Church, 1992) Children need every opportunity to move their bodies and demonstrate their knowledge. Being that this is, for the most part, the first experience in a full day school setting, the children have a very difficult time channeling their energy to remain in their seats.​
