The students in our class are all reading significantly below their grade level for a variety of reasons. Many have learning disabilities that make reading difficult, in turn, affecting every other area of their lives. Every one of our students wants to improve, but many lack the support outside of the school building to make this happen. The socio-economic status of our community does not necessarily provide the literacy opportunities young learners need to be successful. Unfortunately, that means our students don't have the tools they need to build confidence in reading. That's where our program comes in to play. We do everything in our power to give kiddos the tools they need to build confidence and literacy. Many of our students just need a taste of success to realize their potential.

About my class
