In my classroom we use System 44 and Read 180 programs for reading and writing instruction. A large majority of the program requires the students to use their iPads to complete phonics lessons as well as read aloud and record letter sounds, words, and short passages. The headphones will help minimize distractions while my students are listening and learning with the software. Many students will be working on this at the same time while others are nearby receiving small group instruction. This is all very distracting especially to students who already struggle to focus. My students will love being able to clearly hear the instruction as well as record with ease when using the microphone.
