COVID 19 has affected us all in some way or another. My special education students have been affected by this pandemic as well. Typically, students in the occupational classes get unpaid internships with a job coach. These internships take place in the community at local and franchised restaurants and establishments surrounding the school. Due to the pandemic, our students have been unable to learn these necessary employment and work ethic skills in the community. The use of the Cricut Maker will help my students learn about entrepreneurship, running a business and money management. The students will use the Cricut Maker to create designs for custom orders for students and staff. Some of these items may include travel mugs, masks, shirts and other various items. The profit that is made from selling these items will directly go back to our students. The money earned will go towards student needs and future field trips. Without fundraising, most our students would not be able to participate and attend the trips. Please consider donating to Forbush High Schools Occupational Course of Study Program, and give the students an opportunity to learn and grow to assist in their post secondary goals.
