My students come from all different walks of life. They come from various social groups, different cultures, academic differences, and various backgrounds. Our school is 68% free and reduced price lunch. Students' academic differences range from those unable to recognize the letters in their names to those who can already read and write. One common theme in our classroom and school is a love for reading, learning and technology. The teachers work very hard to promote an environment of leaders, readers, and innovative thinkers. Imagine a classroom full of 19 kindergartners engaged in different individualized reading activities. Some are working with a teacher, others are working with a teacher assistant, while some are working on independent task. Some groups are even presenting readers theaters.
