Hi, I am Kim Blackerby, a 7th grade math teacher at Meadowview Middle School located in Morristown, TN. I am attempting to start a Robotics club at out middle school. I attended a Professional Development during the summer and I was introduced to the Lego MindStorms Robots. I was fascinated with them and am excited to introduce them to my students. We have had a Robotics club last year because of this summer class I took and my students were making robots out of paper/ plastic cups, straws, rubber bands, play doh, erasers, paper clips, hobby motors, pencils, markers and anything else they could find. They were so excited because they created these and they would work! My goal is to instill a love for learning by creating a class/club with these MindStormRobotics which will generate an interest in STEM by using tools that students already use for entertainment, Legos.
