Many of my Special Education students have difficult working with pencil and paper tasks. However, when tasks are presented through technology they are suddenly motivated and interested in learning. While writing a sentence or doing a math problem on paper is difficult, on a computer it is fun. These students are in my classroom for short periods of time to focus on specific learning goals in specific areas. These are often areas they have fallen behind in due to their disabilities.
