My school is in South Alabama. Most of our students live in extreme poverty. This is due to the fact that many of our local businesses have closed and there are few jobs in the area. Along with this, many of them come from broken homes and would be considered at risk. I personally deal with a wide range of developmental issues. Because of this, my children have various needs. This is because my students are on so many levels. Still, like their counterparts, it is important that we keep them engaged in order to promote education within this community.
