My students are driven to succeed because the learning environment is fun and engaging. They truly enjoy health class as it is safe and welcoming class where they can explore who they are. The class is designed to help young people make good decisions for themselves, their families and their community. My school is an urban school with a large minority and immigrant population. Within our city, our supplies are very limited. I want my students to feel worthy and deserving of new materials as they work on various projects. My classroom has a strong sense of community where the students are encouraged to collaborate, ask questions, and think to the next level.
