In a world that is ever changing, one thing that can be anticipated is that technology is going to continue to be a forefront in our society. Our children are going to be working in careers that may not even exist yet. What we can do to prepare them for the future, is train them to be thinkers and problem solvers while also becoming proficient in technology. Having five iPads in our room will transform our every day learning. Students will be able to utilize green screen and animation technologies to make their imaginations come to life. With iPads, we can connect through Skype to different classes all around the world while learning about different cultures, while also connecting to career specialists. Ipads can expand our learning far outside the walls of our school and community. We train our students to take control of and monitor their own learning. One way we can do this is through using the iPads to create eportfolios. Children can monitor their own progress and set their own SMART goals based on our third grade state standards, teaching students to be independent, self sufficient learners. These eportfolios can also give parents instant communication into student learning. Please help us ignite our passions and extend our learning far beyond our small town!
