Kindergarten students are being approached with the daunting task of becoming independent readers. One way to support this growth is to encourage them to take ownership of their learning. Book boxes allow students to collect books that they love and books that are just right for them in an organized manner. Book boxes allow my students the opportunity to take their collection of books and seek quiet cozy spots in our classroom to read. Individual book boxes allow me the opportunity to individualize my instruction and guarantee that my students are reading materials that will guide their growth as readers.
