We love to share photographs of favorite times, people and the places we have been each day with our friends and families. This is what Fun with Photography is all about. Having cameras in the hands of my students gives me the opportunity to give them a more rewarding and successful elective experience. We will not have to wait and share the couple of cameras that I have . They will be able to experiment with the challenges given without having to share the camera. It will give us more time to complete and to learn about each of our projects. By helping fund my project, Fun with Photography, your contribution will help first and second grade children gain self-confidence in themselves, and help build on their creativity and communication skills through our photography lessons and adventures. Each week during our elective time, we will be working on various techniques and exploring different ways to tell our story with a photograph. We will learn about cameras, the workings and history. We will explore different backgrounds, lighting, textures, and shadows. We will take close ups, portraits and unconventional selfies. We will go on photograph walks and scavenger hunts. At the end of our adventures, we will finish with a showcase for our parents. Each student will create a self chosen gallery of what they have learned throughout our classes together. I am so excited to see the excitement in the child's eyes as they share their photographs with me and with our school community.
