The large carpet will be placed in the front of the classroom and used as a gathering place during morning meetings, mini-lessons and silent/buddy reading time. One of our favorite times of the day is in our morning meetings when we share special moments in our lives. I love hearing what my third graders have to share each day. Donations to this project will finally allow my scholars to have a spacious area when working together throughout the day. By donating to a common meeting area within my classroom, you are helping to create a place for students' physical, emotional, and mental necessities to be ministered to and given value. While a rug seems simple and perhaps unimportant in the grand scheme of education, I believe it is important to have the physical space marked for students. This place becomes much more than a rug, but a place of sharing and respect. I am attempting to build a community in my classroom and this is an important part of building a classroom community.
