Our upcoming literacy unit combines two of third graders' favorite things, books and the universe! Students will ask and answer questions using key details from the text, study character traits and motives, analyze text structure, and compare informational texts--all while learning important information about outer space! Students will work in whole group and small group settings to complete a literacy unit pairing informational and literary texts about space! The texts are both engaging and challenging for a wide range of readers. Class sets will allow my students to interact with both texts and allow for appropriate differentiation of material and delivery.
