My students will learn to use technology and books together to practice fluency. Each day during guided reading, students have the opportunity to listen to reading. Students are presently sharing one iPad without headphones to listen to stories. With the leveled read-along books, students are able to following along with the reading of quality chapter books that promote fluent reading. By listening to stories being read, students have a model for how to read fluently and with prosody. Hearing books read aloud also fosters a love for reading. Students are excited to hear the engaging reading of stories that include music and sound effects. They will spend their guided reading time listening to stories and discussing the material they have read.
