My students are a rambunctious bunch who absolutely thirst for knowledge. They all have some type of special need but yet it does not impede their child-like wonder and joy of reading. I teach in a Title I Public Charter School in an urban community. Many of the students in my school come from low-economic backgrounds which include homelessness, single parent households, etc. For many school is their sanctuary. My school strives hard to promote parent involvement and reading at home. But due to economics many parents are just barely able to put food on the table; thus books are not always a feasible priority. Moreover as I challenge them to love learning daily, their love for reading has truly increased by leaps and bonds. Thus I am always looking for resources to further their reading abilities in and out of school.
