My students are active, hands on learners. These children are very verbal. They love to talk. Many of these students come from homes below the poverty line. They are ready to learn but need to be taught "how" to learn. They struggle with following directions and listening. This is a very important year to learn "how" to learn. Our school is committed to these students and their families. We have great teachers and administrators that want to meet social as well as academic needs. I hope to use these legos as a tool to help these students learn how to function in a classroom with others. We are learning how to: wait for a turn, be patient, be quiet while others are working, take care of my things, share my toys, and play with someone. I am able to do this well with the help of the legos. Each child will be able to have their own little set to work with and care for while waiting for others to finish yet be productive at the same time.
