My Introduction to Engineering class is split into 8 groups. Each of these 8 groups work at the group's pace. This course has students utilizing computers as instructional tools, viewing diagrams of circuits and simple machines, utilizing fuel cell tutorials, and making presentations. They also will be used with sensors we already have to determine forces acting on objects like trusses and the heat value in thermodynamics, then use the software to graph over time the changes of force and heat Computers will also be used to code robots built by the group. These robots will perform a task (such as being a timer, a lift system or a conveyor belt) that is done on job sites today. Finally, the students need to collaborate and present on projects about energy sources, careers in engineering, and different fields of engineering. They will be able to do this in the class together instead of outside of school. Your contribution will give students 8 chromebooks to have the opportunity to work successfully at their own pace, have access to more content in engineering, and they will be able to run 8 robots simultaneously!
