Even in middle school, I still find bringing the class back to a "carpet area" can help with focus and community. We have carpet in our room but these seating choices will keep my students comfortable and able to tune in to our lesson. During our silent reading time, my students can spread around the room to areas where they can read without distraction using the portable seating. They will enjoy taking turns each day using the yoga balls as their seat or to read on. The wobble chairs and wobble pads will allow my kids to work out pent up physical energy without distraction to others while focusing their minds on the reading skills I am teaching. Like most schools, each of my classes have students with attention deficit disorders. The movement puts a positive spin on their energy and they can do more learning when we make a concerted effort to help them.
