My students are creative and love a challenge. Because we are a charter school only in our second year, we are working to build a solid foundation for our children. This includes providing our students with real world-applications of what they are learning in the classroom. Being able to make these connections to the real world really solidifies the foundation we are building. Since we connected our writing to a monthly publication, my students are excited about writing! The classroom newspaper helps my students learn why it is so important to produce rough drafts, revise and edit their work, and publish writing that is free of errors.
