Randy Pausch's novel, The Last Lecture, is a source of morality, dignity, empathy, and strength. Students that read this book love how relatable of Randy as a narrator. They are able to participate in the emotional roller coaster ride that Randy clearly depicts for them. Reading this novel with Seniors gives them an opportunity to reflect on their time in high school and start to seriously think about who they want to become, as opposed to what they want to become. It's an inspirational self-reflection into a dying man's wishes for his children, leaving a lasting impact on all who read it.
