If my project is funded, I will be able to apply not only the specific training I have in teaching phonics, but I will be able to use games to engage my students. I teach kindergarten through second grade students reading that are struggling to learn in their regular classrooms. With these games, I will be able to meet their various learning needs throughout the day. My ultimate goal is to use these phonics games to meet all of my students' different learning needs and inspire them to want to read, including those students with special needs. With these materials, I will group my students based on their reading levels, and have them play games to fill the gaps in their learning. In addition to the systematic instruction I am providing in phonics, these games will make my students want to learn and persevere, despite their various challenges.
